Dear supporters,
In the Rear-view Mirror
Seeing God move time and time again will never grow old. We are so excited to announce that we are at 85% of our needed support and are growing ever so close to reaching the end of our deputation trail. We will begin focusing on packing and ensuring we have all of the necessities for our move and all paperwork has been properly filed. There are many moving parts that are essential to the move going well. I have already sent in my residence application (the required paperwork for the spouse of a citizen of Iceland), however, we will not hear- anything about that application for at least five more months. We are praying that God works a miracle and allows everything to go smoothly however we are fully prepared that he may allow a few hiccups along the way.
The Road Ahead
As we enter into the fall season, we are excited to have many mission’s conferences in our schedule as well as many meetings for Sundays and Wednesdays. We have twenty-three meetings left in our deputations, we would greatly appreciate your prayers that these meetings would be very successful meetings and that God would lay it on the hearts of the churches and pastors to take us on for financial support. We are eager to begin working in Iceland with missionaries Patrick and Vicki Weimer. They have been in Iceland for twenty-three years serving faithfully and we are so honored to be learning under them as we learn the language and culture as well as adapt to the many changes we will face.
Final Preparations
Beginning this month, we will begin sending out mid-month prayer letters every other month. These letters will be detailing the financial needs we will have throughout our move. From a vehicle to housing and many things in between, there will be many needs that will arise. These needs are very special as the Icelandic government and financial institutions do not recognize the U.S. credit system. Because of this, we will be unable to get a loan of any kind for the first three years of our time in Iceland. We trust that you will join us in prayer as we begin these final steps.
Sincerely,
The Sears Family
