In the Rear View Mirror
With Christmas and New Years now behind us we are so excited for the upcoming events of 2024! We also look back and remember all that God has done for us. We watched God complete our deputation, Nathan was ordained into the ministry, God gave great safety as we moved all of our belongings across the ocean to Iceland. He also provided the finances to purchase a vehicle. We became very involved in the ministry here at First Baptist Church, we later found out we were expecting a little girl. We helped run the annual Summer Camp. God allowed Nathan to lead two souls to Christ, then Everett received his Icelandic citizenship. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving outreach which was quickly followed by our Christmas program. God did absolutely amazing things for us in 2023 and on the first day of 2024 God gave us our precious Amelia Joy Sears.
The Road Ahead
We are so excited for all that God has in store for us in 2024. We are so thankful for the health He has given to both Megumi and Amelia during the delivery. She was born January first at 6:23 P.M. Weighing 8 pounds 6 ounces. We are absolutely in love with her and are excited to see how God uses her as she grows up. Coming this year we are planning a building project to add a platform/stage to the new main auditorium. We are also working on building approximately seventy sound dampening boards to reduce the echo in the room. This June we will be hosting a Homecoming for all those who were members of the church as military personnel and those who have given towards the building project to see the finished construction. Directly after this event we will have our annual Summer Camp where we have around 40 children in the church building from Monday to Saturday. During this week we have great meals, fun games, and many opportunities to hear God’s word, read the Bible, and demonstrate team spirit.
Fun Fact About Iceland
Every New Years, the Icelandic people celebrate the holiday by lighting fireworks for hours on end. Every home is able to purchase commercial grade fireworks and light them the night of the New Year’s celebration. It is truly an amazing sight to see.
